Historic New England and the Dorchester Historical Society invite you to explore the American Revolution through the words of Dorchester residents. The program presents historical exchanges ranging from letters by a young soldier seeking adventure to a lieutenant colonel corresponding with George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and other notable figures. It also features insights from Colonel Samuel Pierce’s journal. Attendees are invited to share any correspondence they have found from Dorchester residents dating to the time of the Revolution, helping us collaboratively document the community’s history.
